Linen Vs. Ramie Which Is The Best

Since the awareness of being environmentally friendly keeps increasing, the low-carbon linen and ramie clothing have swept the whole fashion world in the recent years. Sometimes we may get confused about the linen and ramie. Both of them are featuring in absorbency, freshness and coolness. Both of them are light and breathable. Which one is the best? Now we have a close look to the clothes with linen fabric and ramie fabric.

Linen fiber
The linen fabric is the earliest fabrics used in the fashion world. The linen fabric has won high reputation as the “fiber queen” among people. The natural spindle structure and pectocellulose fiber allows being absorbent, breathable, antiseptic, antibacterial, antimicrobial, deodorant and anti-ultraviolet. It is so absorbent that it can keep the wearers cool and fresh in the summer. Besides, the linen fabric with high quality is full of natural luster. It can lower your body surface temperature when the temperature is getting higher. The linen fiber is so precious that it has become a symbol of dignity. It can keep our skin healthy.

Ramie fiber
The ramie fabric plays an important role in the fashion world. Just as we mentioned above, the linen fabric is famous for its absorbency and breathability. The ramie fiber is the longest fibers among the bast fibers. It is white and silk-like natural luster. Distinguished from the linen fiber, the ramie fiber gap is larger and its extensibility is smaller. Thus, it is light, absorbent and fresh. It is tolerant to the heat and wet.

Sensitivity
The ramie fiber is heavy. Thus, even though it is finishing its degumming process, there’re still some red spot. Aiming to remove the red spot away, the ramie needs to suffer from the “pain”. It may damage the fabric. It is so painful that the fabric will become hard to touch. Moreover, the amount of fuzz on the surface will be increased after the remove process. The fuzz is so much that it will make the wearers uncomfortable and allergy.

The linen fabric, however, is generally smooth to touch. The linen fabric with poor quality is often has a large quantity of pilings. So the linen fabric with high quality has few pilling and very smooth and soft to touch. The less the pilling is on the surface, the higher quality is the linen fabric. Thus, the linen fabric will give the wearers a meticulous care.
